2009 Christmas Song Of The Day 16
A stripped down post today because I’m working from a mac laptop in a hotel room , and since I’m basically mac challenged(I’m a PC person and can’t figure out how to do half the things I want to on this thing). Here’s a new holiday song from former Philly fave now Brooklyn band, power poppers The Canon Logic. Hopefully this link will work, if not I’ll repost tomorrow (Link Updated) when I have access to my PC back. Rock on.

With only twelve days left until Christmas, here’s one to get you in the the mood to trim that tree if you haven’t already. A brand new album of Christmas songs by Chicago band The Layaways called Maybe Next Year. Ten songs, including two originals by the band, it’s a smooth blend of indie folk tinged with just a bit shoegazey, psychedelic keyboard flourishes to make it sparkle. Perfect listening to accompany whatever holiday preparations you may be making today.

What do you get when you take a copy of the Phil Spector Christmas Album, mix it with some Reverb and Tremelo flavored Shake ‘n Bake, and throw it in the oven until it’s well done ? You get this cool tune from last year’s Wishing You A Rave Christmas, Come On Santa, by The Raveonettes. Turn it up.

[Snowballs via Lizzie and Company]
Here’s a rocking one with a touch of humor that came my way recently from a UK band that I know absolutely nothing about named The Snowballs. But I liked the tune, and you might too, so here it is.
