In 1978 after becoming increasingly frustrated with a record company that he felt had mismanaged his output, Graham Parker recorded one of his best singles, the biting angry kiss off song to his label, Mercury Poisoning. One of his harder to find songs, it was originally released on a promo 12" one-sided gray vinyl single with only his name and the song title. Arista, his new record comapny refused to be associated with it and insisted their name be left off of it. Parker then went on to record arguably the finest album of his career as his first release for Arista, the brilliant Squeezing Out Sparks.
